Making Serabi cake at home
Serabi cake is a typical street food and one of the traditional cake in Indonesia. Because made from rice flour, wheat and coconut milk make this Serabi has a soft texture and taste delicious. This Indonesia typical cake may be almost similar to pancakes.
Of course incomplete if eat this Serabi cake without kinca or brown sugar sauce is thick and sweet. Kinca or brown sugar sauce taste itself can modified mix with durian fruit, which would certainly make the kinca sweet-scented durian fruit, this kinca with durian aroma usually loved by Serabi cake fans.

100 grams sugar
2 tablespoons flour
120 ml plain water

2 pandan leaf

How To Make :
1. Prepare the source material by mixing 50 grams of wheat flour, 1 tsp instant yeast and 50 ml of warm water. Let stand for about 15 minutes until the dough arise.
2. To make the serabi batter: Mix 100 grams of wheat flour, 100 grams of rice flour, 1 egg, a pinch of fine salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla in a large enough container and mix well
3. Pour 500 ml thick coconut milk into the serabi batter gradually while in stir until dough is well blended and smooth, set aside
4. Once the yeast ingredient arise, mix the serabi batter that has been previously made and stir until completely mixed
5. Set aside and let stand for 1 hour until the dough serabi batter ferment
6. Prepare brown sugar sauce ingredients: Cook 120 ml of plain water with 50 grams of brown sugar until sugar is destroyed, remove and let cool
7. Cook 400 ml thick coconut water mixed with brown sugar water, 100 grams of sugar, a pinch of salt and 2 pandan leaf, and cook until the sauce boils
8. Reduce the heat stove, dissolve 2 tablespoons of rice flour with water to taste and add to the sauce ingredients in small increments. Stir until sauce thickens and boils, remove from heat

If the first serabi cooked in the traditional way, using a concave clay griddle. But now make the pancake is much easier because we can find a baking sheet or serabi pan that is made of teflon or aluminum concave.
